What makes a strong online community?
OVERVIEW
Belonging to various communities is important for kids' development. But some online communities can be healthier than
others. Show your students how they can strengthen both online and in-person communities by creating norms that everyone
pledges to uphold.
Key Vocabulary:
community - a group of people who share the same interests or goals
digital citizen - someone who uses technology responsibly to learn, create, and participate
norm - a way of acting that everyone in a community agrees to
pledge - a promise or an oath that one makes

Digital Citizenship Pledge - Use Microsoft Word or Google Docs to create a Digital Citizenship Poster like the one shown below. First, put Your name, Computer Lab, and the date in the upper right corner of your document. Next do the title. Finally, You can go to the insert tab in Word and insert shapes. Then, color the shapes with the shape fill option. Also, you are to add 2 of your own statements of how to be Responsible, Safe, and Kind when Online or connected to others with technology! |
